Bespoke sink and shelf for Man City hotel

Velstone is proud to be part of one of Manchester’s most exciting developments, supplying bespoke solid surface bathroom worktops for 243 bedrooms in the highly anticipated Manchester City Hotel, which is set to open in late 2026.

Located adjacent to the Etihad Stadium and developed in partnership with Radisson Hotel Group, the four-star hotel, which will be called The Medlock, will be a centrepiece of the Club’s £300 million Etihad Campus expansion. Designed with modern luxury and fan experience in mind, The Medlock will serve visitors, football fans, and tourists from around the world.

“Our involvement in The Medlock is a true milestone,” said Sameer Sawant, Director at Velstone. “To be chosen for a development of this scale, and one that will carry the Manchester City name, one of sports biggest global brands, is a huge honour. It reflects our reputation for delivering excellence, time after time.”

Each of the 243 Velstone-supplied tops, which supports a modern sink, and shelves combines durability with sleek aesthetics – a signature of Velstone’s customisable surfaces.

“This isn’t just about supplying a product, it’s about our worktops contributing to an experience,” said Sam. “The Medlock will be an iconic hotel which will be enjoyed by both fans and visitors for decades to come.”

With a track record of delivering tailored solid surface solutions for in-house hotel design teams for global names like Holiday Inn, Virgin Atlantic and Fairfield by Marriott, when the development needed the right solid surface, Offsite Solutions knew Velstone would deliver, having worked with them on many projects in the past.

“The client was very specific at the outset on what colour they wanted, and they also wanted a bespoke, 20mm thickness,” explained Sam. “It’s not a thickness that we stock, but they were happy to wait, and they were over the moon with the finished colour and surface.”

The hotel is also set to be extended and, so happy was the customer with Velstone, they have requested the same colour and thickness again for an extra 24 bedrooms.

It is, says Sam, the reason why Velstone continues to set the standard in hotel fit-outs thanks to being able to meet unique specifications and challenges with custom thicknesses and a colour matching service that makes branding easy.
